ABOUT ME: I am Glenda P. Slatkin. That is the reason I used the URL “gpsymt”. You might notice that it is my initials with a Y added to make a unique version of the word gypsy. Being my own version of a gypsy is something I have enjoyed in the past and look forward to in the future. The “mt” of course stands for massage therapist. Massage (or bodywork) is not just a career for me, it is my calling, as I have already said. It is what I am meant to do. To help my clients feel better is one of my great joys in life.

I came to Las Vegas in 2000 to attend the Nevada School of Massage Therapy but I had been doing massage for many years before that.  I was a licensed cosmetologist when I was 18 years old and spent many years doing hair and nails in some of the best salons in the Denver metro area.  Cosmetologists are trained in several forms of massage and my clients loved the extra pampering my natural massage talents allowed.  I talked myself out of pursuing massage for many years but finally gave in.  It was one of the best things I ever did.  Now I want to add my past to my present to enhance my future, not just for me but for my clients also.  I am in the process of figuring out what the optimal way is for me to do this.

Traveling and exploring, seeing the beauty of the world and getting to know people is a passion for me. I do so enjoy being my own version of a gypsy, a massage gpsy or gpsy mt. It is my goal and my desire to be the best gypsy massage therapist and cosmetologist (hair designer, nail tech and makeup artist) I can be; to touch my clients and the people I meet and help them feel better and look better. To teach them how to take care of themselves. To teach others how to help people feel better. And to continually learn as much or more than I teach. Through all of this I hope to assist those I come into contact with to heal. To make every life I touch better in some way (no matter how small) is and has been my mission for many years. This is how I intend to help the world heal. Therefore, “Touch, Teach, Heal” is my mantra.

This site and facebook will help me accomplish my goals. Through both of them, my clients will be able to keep track of what I am doing and know when and where I am available to give them a massage or bodywork and be able to contact me or book an appointment easily. I used to have an online appointment service but found it cumbersome and unpersonal. I prefer to communicate directly with my clients. I have found texting to be the most efficient but welcome phone calls and emails also.

Both sites are still under construction and probably always will be in some way. I request your patience with me while I am in the formative phases of pulling it all together. It is more of a chore than I thought- but it will be worth it in the long run; of that I am certain. It is one of my ways of keeping in contact with the people that are very important to me; my clients (past, present and future). I am learning a lot. I request your suggestions as to how I can make it better.

Please send any suggestions or a testimonial to me at glendaslatkin@hotmail.com.

By the way, my license plate is GPSY MT. If you see me, honk and wave.
